Pope Letter and UNAIDS Donation

Hey everyone! Just a quick update. We finally got our letter sent out to Pope. We ended up sending him a letter encouraging condom use as a way to prevent AIDS. We also put a few condoms in the package to let him try them out and see how they work for him. Here are the pictures:




Secondly, we went down and donated the $73.66 we made from the bake sale to fight AIDS worldwide. Thanks for everyone who made the bake sale a great success!

Losing my religion

Next week we will be fortunate enough to host William Lobdell (Website) here at UCI.  He is a former LA Times writer and UCI graduate.  William Lobdell wrote the book titled “Losing My Religion: How I Lost My Faith Reporting on Religion in America — and Found Unexpected Peace.”  He will be speaking in Donald Bren Hall on April 21st from 7:00pm-10:00pm

Secondly, tomorrow we will be having our AAR Atheist bake sale. However, unlike previous bakesales this time we actually have a mission! As usual you will be able to trade your soul for a delicious baked good. However if that idea seems unappealing to you the standard fee of 50 cents for a baked good also applies. This time we will be donating all proceeds from the bake sale to the UNAIDS programme to fight AIDS worldwide. See the previous posts for more details on this organization.

Is your soul worth a cookie?

This week on Thursday we will be having our famous Atheist Bake Sale! We will be selling baked delicious treats but unlike a normal bake sale you actually have two options for payment. For those of you who are a little less willing to part with your ethereal counterparts you can pay the traditional way by giving us 50 cents for a baked good. However, if you are feeling more adventurous you can sign one of our soul contracts and transfer ownership to AAR. In return you will get 1 very tasty cookie.

Is it worth it? Come find us on ring road and find out.

T-Shirts & Buttons Have Arrived!

Our wonderful t-shirts and buttons have arrived and they are intensely awesome. Remember, I will be shipping t-shirts and buttons to your home if you are away from Irvine for the summer! Okay, here’s the info:

    BY PICK-UP or DROP-OFF (You can pick up your items by coming to my apartment or an AAR event. You can also wait until the Fall AAR meetings. I can also drop off items if you live around campus or around the Tustin Marketplace.)

  • T-shirts in S, M, L, XL: $15/each
  • Buttons: $1/each
  • No shipping and handling fees
    BY MAIL (via sending through snail mail)

  • T-shirts in S, M, L, XL: $15/each
  • Buttons: $1/each
  • Shipping and handling fees: $4/order (includes the shipping envelope and postage)

Currently, we have 21 shirts left in all sizes, so when we run out, we will do another order asap. Photos will be posted soon! If you would like to go ahead and order, send me an email at aar [a] uci [dot] edu with the following info:
