Welcome to the UCI American Medical Student Association Site!

AMSA broke off of the AMA in 1950 to focus its attention on socio-medical issues such as civil rights and universal access to health care. The organization has grown and developed since, yet its priorities remain true to its roots.

AMSA's four strategic priorities include: eliminating health disparities, advocating for diversity in medicine, transforming the culture of medicine and fighting for universal access to health care.

AMSA has a very exciting agenda planned for 2008-2009. If you are a first year interested in getting involved for the first time consider running for a leadership position! Leadership positions for first year students include: Co-president, Co-Vice President of Administrative Affairs, Co-Treasurer, Vice President of Recruitment, Historian and Vice President of Technology.

Region X Conference

Every fall, each AMSA region holds a conference, a local convention held for medical students to convene and listen to speakers, work on projects and have a great time. These conferences have become an AMSA tradition and an inspiration for various events across the country.
