Asian
Pacific American Awareness Conference (APAAC)
Every year, APSA holds the Asian Pacific American Awareness Conference, otherwise known as APAAC. As the name implies, APAAC aims to bring awareness about the Asian and Pacific Islander culture to UCI and the greater Orange County area. Through workshops and keynote speakers, we hope to inspire members of our own community and educate anyone who is interested to learn more about Asian and Pacific Islander cultures. APAAC has been a venue to address many issues in our community, such as the generation gap and LGBTQ issues. It has also been host to keynote speakers such as Parry Shen (Better Luck Tomorrow) and Suzanne Whang (NBC's Las Vegas). With a vision of diversity, education, and respect, APAAC is the venue where our cultures are celebrated and brought to the spotlight. This year APSA is proud to host our 27th Asian Pacific American Awareness Conference “The Movement: Then and Now.” Visit our APAAC website today!http://www.apaacuci.orgshapeimage_3_link_0
Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month (APIHM)

The Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month (APIHM), coinciding with the national Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, is a celebration of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. APIHM occurs during April/May and is full of workshops, speakers and performances where APSA and our constituents shed light on the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) experience. This year we hope to celebrate the culture and history of the ethnic groups making up the AAPI umbrella. Through APSA’s annual talent show APSA JAM, a festival of AAPI culture and food, educational workshops, special performances, culture nights, and inspirational speakers, APSA hopes to educate the UCI and Southern California community about the AAPI experience.
