Spring Season, Go!

Posted by: iacoopa at 2015-04-08 01:06:58

Now that April has arrived, lots of new and interesting anime are starting, or have already started. KyoAni is working on Hibike! Euphonium, another light novel adaptation. It's K-On! with trumpets and, spoilers: confirmed lesbian crushes. What's not to like? It's very pretty looking, as per KyoAni style.

There's also JC Staff doing both Shokugeki no Soma and Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no ha Machigatteiru Darou ka? Shokugeki is, of course, a very popular Jump manga with fantastic art. I'm really hoping that the anime brings some figures or other merchandise. Danmachi is a light novel adaptation, though there is a manga that is already thirty chapters old. It's hard to say how this will do, but with Hestia looking the way she does, I'm sure there will be plenty of people watching.

There's also Triage X. Supposedly, this is why the author of High School of the Dead abandoned that manga. The first episode of this hasn't released yet, but I did really miss HSOTD when it dropped off of the face of the Earth, so I'm happy to see it coming out. Who knows if it's any good, though.

And, of course, we can't forget about Yuki-chan. Nagato Yuki-chan no Soushitsu is an adaptation of the light novel series of the same name. A spin off of Haruhi, there are already a lot of people both looking forward to the series, as well as hating how different Yuki's character is compared to her Melancholic counterpart. I, personally, found the new Yuki to be super cute and, though I would be totally fine with it, kind of hope that it becomes something more than a rom-com. I haven't read the novels, so I'm completely in the dark. Here's to hoping!
