Middle East Policy Paper Forum

The Middle East Studies Student Initiative (M.E.S.S.I) is proud to
announce their first annual "Middle East Policy Paper Forum."
The purpose of this forum is to explore the varying perspectives of
the undergraduate students at UCI and provide a platform to
showcase their critical analysis.

M.E.S.S.I will be collecting policy papers written by undergraduate
students for the review of a panel of faculty regional experts. At
least one submission will be chosen by the panelists to receive a
scholarship award of up to $500 from M.E.S.S.I. Policy paper
submissions will only be accepted if the student has been nominated
by a faculty member or TA. Students may approach a faculty member to
request a nomination. M.E.S.S.I will accept all policy papers written
by students that focus on current issues regarding the Middle East.

The nominated papers must be submitted by the nominating professor by
e-mail to ucimessi@gmail.com by March 31, 2008.

M.E.S.S.I. will then choose the best ten submissions to be presented by
the student at a forum on April 7th, 2008. Presentations should be no
more than seven minutes long followed by three minutes for questions.

See flyers for guidelines!
