MIAH
Volunteers of the Quarter
May 24,
2011 -
We understand that it's hard to balance school work and
community
outreach, so the MIAH officers would like to thank ALL of our
volunteers for your hard work! We'd like to
specially thank the following volunteers
for going above and beyond in their respective
committees:
1. Kevin Phan (S.H.O.
Committeee) - Kevin is a dedicated leader and a
great example in the SHO health classes. He is the coordinator for the
patient education classes and
makes sure the courses run smoothly every week
through his attendance and coordination. Congrats Kevin and we
look forward to more of your
awesome efforts!
2. Julius Bolus and Leah Guerrero (Recuperative Care) - Both have
taught almost every Recuperative
Program patient education class offered this spring.
They are ever diligent and take everything and everyone in the
most positive light possible. Julius and Leah
exhibit great enthusiasm and preparation to teach
the patient education classes, and both do an
excellent job presenting the
material to the Recuperative Program patients. Thank
you for your fine work, Julius and Leah!
3. Zauhra Nazery (Community Resource Committee) - Zauhra
Nazery is our volunteer of the quarter who
created most of the new educational
pamphlets. Our resources would not be complete with out her hard
work!

Although this is
Brigitte's first year at UCI, she has been taking a very proactive and
impressive role in the Recuperative Program, and is one of the
program's most dedicated volunteers! She was recently appointed as one
of our new Floor Managers, and always does an excellent job interacting
with the patients and expressing her passion to serve others. Great
job, Brigitte!
Eric Kwong, 4th
year Biological Sciences:
Eric's dedication to
the Recuperative Program is evident in the fact that he currently holds
the record for the most amount of service hours in the program! Since
the beginning, Eric has been loyal to volunteering and always shows
enthusiasm and a deep interest in his role as a medical specialist. He
currently serves as one of our new Floor Managers as well! Thank you
