ROTARACT at UCI: Rotaract is an international service organization for young women and men ages 18-30. The club combines leadership and professional development with humanitarian service. Rotaract at UCI is sponsored by the Newport-Irvine Rotary Club. Its beginnings here on our UCI campus came in the Spring of 2009, when 50 Charter members were brought together under our slogan,“Service above self,” to bring change to the community and allow UCI students the opportunity to become more civically engaged, while growing as young professionals. WHY JOIN? NETWORKING —Meet Rotarians – successful professionals in an array of different careers. Learn of career possibilities, and travel anywhere internationally. You will always have a sense of connection through Rotary affiliates—someone to turn to, stay with, or visit. SERVICE —Learn of community service possibilities, both locally and internationally. Develop leadership skills through different community projects that bring all Rotaractors to the call of “passion for action.” PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT —Meet with successful Rotarians who can share their insights in your field of interest, and who are also service oriented. Attend workshops and gain valuable advice on how to grow as a professional. Learn the ethics of success in any career; Four Way Test. Four Way Test: Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it help build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned? FELLOWSHIP —Build lasting friendships with other Rotaractors who are not only goal oriented students, but are also dedicated to the service of others. Join us at our social events throughout the quarter and get to know your fellow Rotaractors! Club Dues:Rotaract Club of UCI has a quarterly fee of 15$ in order to qualify as an active member and be able to participate in professional development and be eligible for Rotary Scholarships & Awards. This fee includes a t-shirt as well as a Rotaract membership pin. The fees go towards food and other club expenses that benefit you as members as well as the Rotaract Club as a whole. If you are unable to pay for the fee- You can still be part of Rotaract and we can be flexible in dealing with individual members situations and concerns.
