P3 Program Check-In

SPG members have been busy this Fall participating in the GPS-BIOMED Public Policy Prep (P3) Program! In the past couple of weeks, we have been incredibly fortunate to visit with Julianne McCall, a former CCST Fellow, and Nick Anthis, a former AAAS STPF fellow, as well as hear a great talk by Toby Smith (@SciPolGuy). This is all on top of great seminars on how to communicate with politicians, how policy is formulated, and other great topics!

All of these visits include plenty of opportunity to network and build connections with speakers. We encourage our members and any other interested people in the UCI community to come out to future P3 seminars and activities! Check out details on the P3 program here.

SPG at UCI receives award from UCS

We are thrilled to receive support from the Union of Concerned Scientists Science for Public Good Fund! This funding will help allow us to host a public forum where we will discuss ways in which science can help inform policy. We will then take this information directly to elected officials by conducting lobby visits in Sacramento or DC! Look out for event updates in the near future.
