This October we are partnering with Union of Concerned Scientist and AAAS to bring to you two awesome training events! 

October 25th: AAAS CASE Workshop hosted by AGS, SACNAS, SPG

This is an all day event (10 am – 5 pm) **Please register to attend**

An exciting opportunity to learn about science policy and advocacy where students will learn about:

  • Structure and organization of federal and state government
  • Budget and appropriations processes
  • Tools for effective science communication and civic engagement
  • And more about the role of science in policy-making

October 27th: Early Career Science Symposium hosted by Union of Concerned Scientists in collaboration with SPG, SACNAS, and GPS-BIOMED 

This is an all day event **Please register to attend**

In partnership with the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS)the University of California Advocacy Network (UCAN), and the National Science Policy Network (NSPN) this exciting opportunity is open to upper-class undergraduate and graduate students in to learn about science policy and advocacy. Students will participate in one day program where they will learn about:

  • Structure and organization of federal and state government
  • Budget and appropriations processes
  • Tools for effective science communication and civic engagement
  • And more about the role of science in policy-making

The Union of Concerned Scientists and graduate students at the University of California in Irvine, San Diego, Los Angeles, and Riverside invite you to a training for the next generation of science advocacy leaders. This full-day symposium will arm you with the policy knowledge and advocacy skills you need to make change in California and at the national level.
